Recently I have introduces so many different Chalk Paint® Workshops both for Norwalk and Rye, I’d like to talk about them a little bit and explain the different finishes I teach in these classes. Maybe this would help you decide which class to take if you haven’t already or move to a more advanced one if you are familiar with the basics.
In the Chalk Paint® 101-All the Basics class you would be working on sample boards learning four different techniques and clear/dark wax applications. The four techniques are the Smooth/Modern Finish, a more Rustic Finish, a Two Tone Distressed Finish and a Basic Crackle Finish.
The Chalk Paint® 202-Beyond the Basics is a follow up class after the Chalk Paint® 101 class. This builds on your knowledge so it is definitely recommended to take the 101 class first. During this hands-on workshop I will show you how to achieve a Cracked and Chipped paint effect, how to do Frottage in a traditional French manner, how to do Color Washing with wet wax and how to do a Regular Wash over a painted surface.
In our Advanced Workshop, you can take your furniture painting experience to the next level. In this class we will be using the Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint and also the Artisan Enhancements products. You will learn how to use the Annie Sloan Craqueleur over a Transferred image, Stencil Pearl Plaster over a painted surface, and learn how to do gilding with gold/silver/copper foil. It is a requirement to take the Basic 101 class before you sign up for this Advanced Workshop.
In the All about Crackle Finish class you will learn the Simple Crackle finish using just the Chalk Paint®, then you will learn to use the Annie Sloan Craqueleur that resembles the look of varnish that has cracked and aged over time, and use the Artisan Enhancemets Easy Crackle and Crackle Tex.
I also scheduled the first Bring Your Own Piece class in Rye, where you can bring in a small piece of furniture (the piece has to be pre approved before the class), and transform your boring furniture into a beautiful hand painted piece of art!

Hope to see you at one of our Workshops!
Bye for now!
